King of the Road

I am the king of the road –

I described in my post ‘Planning a Trip’, my next trip to a different location to find the new destination for the next chapter in my life.

That trips starts today!

My partner and I will be driving a total of 2800 miles round trip.  Family will be visited as well as many locations for that next home destination.  I will continue to post daily, but may be a little late on responding to your comments – be patient with me.

The first leg of the trip starts today and will take us through 5 states, with a total of 684 miles driven and taking approximately 12 hours including stops.  It will be a long day and when we reach our destination today; we will spend the night with my partner’s brother and my un-official mother in-law.  Every day, I read many fellow blogger’s posts and write comments as often as I can.  Today or more precisely tonight I will follow-up as much as possible to try to keep current with your posts.  But if I do not respond in my usual quickness, do not be despaired as I will eventually catch-up.  There will be times during the next 11 days I will have more time to spend on the blogging activity that has come into my daily routine.

So bloggers; keep blogging as I will keep blogging – and I will catch up with you soon – promise!

PS –

Unlike Roger Miller, I will not be staying in a trailer, I will have more than fifty cents, I will have a phone and a pool and a pet and cigarettes – but I am still ‘King of the Road’.

First Lyrics –

Trailer for sale or rent, rooms to let, fifty cents.

No phone, no pool, no pets, I ain’t got no cigarettes

Ah, but, two hours of pushin’ broom

Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room

I’m a man of means by no means, king of the road.

    • a great song by the great singer ‘Roger Miller’
