Back Home Again

As John Denver reminds us in song – “Hey, it’s good to be back home again”.

In my post ‘Planning a Trip’, I wrote the following –

My partner and I have planned another trip to explore another state for our future home, our next chapter in our lives.  I mentioned in my post ‘Road Surface Makings’ on that trip to the same state we drove about 2,500 miles.  This trip we will be driving about 2,800 miles and again we will visit my partner’s family and explore new surroundings for that next location we hope to call ‘home’.  You can read more about the reason for our new location search in my posts ‘Blog Site, Post & Life Transitions’ and ‘The Home Comfort Zone’.

2 days back and I can truly say “Hey, it’s good to be back home again”.  12 days away, 3,269 miles driven, 2 time zones, 5 states, 2 family location visits, 2 casino visits, 3 hotel stays, 14 location visits we hope to call ‘home’ – I am exhausted and must say “Hey, it’s good to be back home again”.

It was a long trip and I am tired, but the trip was successful in that we are narrowing down that new location we hope to call ‘home’.  But, I cannot rest too long for we will start planning the next trip to the same state, different location and do it all again – the multiple days away, the thousands of miles driving, the family location visits, maybe casino visits, the hotel stays and many more locations to visit we hope to call ‘home’.  Yep, in about 6 weeks will do it all again.

For the next 6 weeks and beyond, next year sometime; this current location is our home.

This location I have called home for 12 years now is a place of where the story of my life is unfolding with this blog.

This location I have called home for 12 years now is a place where my partner and I have created happiness with ourselves and each other.

This location I have called home for 12 years now is a place where our story began with the next chapter to follow soon – that next location – that next home.

But until then “Hey, it’s good to be back home again”.
