He was an imperfect person, looking for the white picket fence

The state of mind, the fixation, the for better was clear

But the thinking, the emotions, the reactions made no sense

The white picket fence, it was all within reach

And the stage was set, with characters ready for the show

They all had a role to play, but he had the speech

At the end of the first act, the encore was played

With the white picket fence, no longer in sight

The troubles, the drama, it would all be weighed

The white picket fence, became no longer

He searched himself, for the true meaning of him

And in the decade that followed, he would become stronger

The lows, the highs, these were the times

The white picket fence, was in the back of his mind

The most he could do, was to continue the climbs

The second act, more characters came and went

With hopes of acquiring the white picket fence

But it appeared the time, was wastefully spent

With success, failure, the good, the bad

The while picket fence became again no longer

At this point in his life, he was not a young lad

With the white picket fence, again in his sight

This current act, another character, the show will go on

With the conclusion, looking extremely bright

With the final act, the beginning of the end

And the white picket fence again within reach

The characters are in place, the partner, the friend

The show in the beginning, it made little sense

But it progressed, it exposed, he who is true

He was an imperfect person, looking for the white picket fence

  1. What a wonderful post; this was very beautifully written, and I love the way you ‘styled’ it on your blog. (For some reason I can’t think of the right word/phrase to use there..hopefully you know what I mean!)
