New Year Starts With a Thank You

Happy New Year Everyone!

As I start this New Year, I first wanted to say ‘Thank You’ to each and every one of you that read my blog.  When I started this a little over 7 months ago I really had no idea where it would take me.  Really I was at a point where I was not doing much in my life.  At that time I knew my extreme Christmas decorating was not going to take place, so I had time on my hands to do something else.  And with me retired and not working, I have time on my hands.  So, what should I do?  I have always had the idea of writing a book about my life, I felt for me that was important.  But, deep inside I knew that would most likely not occur as I consider myself not a writer – I do not know where to start in writing a book.

So there I was last year with time on my hands and wondering what I should be doing with my time.  I could start a blog about me and my life; and that is what I did.  Would anyone read my blog about me and my life?  Would anyone really care about those things in my life that brought me to here today and a new year?  But I am not a writer; would people read and criticize my writing?  Should I expose the true me and everything about me?

Well, here I am today a little over 7 months later; writing and posting every single day since the beginning of my blog.  I love it!

I enjoy writing and the interactions with you my fellow bloggers.  I appreciate you taking the time to read, ‘Like’ and comment my posts.  I feel like I have friends and family here in the blogger world – this means a great deal to me.

I am learning to let go of the past and live in the current day.  I am learning from your posts, your comments and from you.  I am learning to be creative in my writing, learning from performing research of some post topics and learning that the world is a good place when you have a blog to share with others.

So my friends, my family – my hope for this year is you have 365 days filled will joy, happiness, fulfillment, surprises, expectations, goals and good health.

I truly am honored that you chose to follow my blog and read my posts – I truly am grateful for you.

thank you

  2. Ok, you liked my meatloaf recipe so I wandered on over here to taste read your blog.. And now its your fault I have less idle time that I could be writing my blog..
    I hope your happy.. 😬

I read a few of your posts and the “about me” But this is the most relative post that will give my opinion of all I’ve read so far..
You mentioned the thought to write a book but not knowing where to start.. Well I have the answer !

Your blog posts are pure chapters taken from the book not bound together yet..
You have raw writing skills.. And that passion in the posts make reading each chapter worthwhile..

I don’t have a lot of free time, your blog will take some of that and I don’t mind at all.. 😉

    • Thank you very much for the kind words and for following my blog. I believe you are correct about the blog post being my chapters, I think someday my book will be written. And I liked your meatloaf recipe because meatloaf is one food I like very much and I can cook. But I do not have a recipe, I just throw things into it without giving it much thought. It usually turns out good. Thanks for stopping by to read and comment – always appreciated! 🙂

      • Oooo I do hope you try it.. An unbiased review of a meatloaf foodie would be much welcomed.. I’ve made it for family and friends and gotten great feedback.. and the Cannellii beans are much better than bread crumbs with the added protein punch.. So a review of tested and tried by you would be gold to me..

        Glad you agree about the
post/chapters, you just have to figure out the best order for continuity for the reader.. And a title that grips curiosity..
A book that many people can relate to about the toughest feelings and issues to talk about, provides the outlet and empathy, who lack that support system, and a type of one sided therapy that the reader can learn how you dealt/deal with crisis..
You write positive and hopeful into your posts and I believe your book would sell and be relief for those who suffer in silence..

        • Your words are very much appreciated and thoughtful. I try to be positive and hopeful, but down in side I still have some low self-esteem and am working on overcoming. Your kind and encouraging words today have helped in lifting that self-esteem to a higher level. Thank you! 🙂

  3. What a wonderful post and your words ring so true. I feel very much the same about my blogging experience, it’s been six months for me.
Writing is fun, is therapy, is a challenge, is overcoming the little critical nagging voices inside your head, is reading and connecting and sharing and creating meaning.
    happy New Year!
