, it felt like home

In my post ‘Home For Sale‘, I wrote the following –

I will admit, as much as I am excited about moving forward, I am somewhat sad about leaving this current home.  13 ½ years, this house we have called home.  I still remember seeing this home and walking through the front door for the first time.  It only took a few minutes and I told Gary “This is it, this is the one!”  We had previously spent months viewing properties and this one immediately stood out and I knew it would be our home.

In my post ‘Fingers Crossed‘, I concluded with the following –

Yes, this is very good feedback!  Now the waiting begins.  What will their decision be?  When will the decision be made?  Will we receive an offer?

We will have to wait a few days.

I wrote this post on Sunday morning and am publishing today.  It has been a few days now since that very good feedback.

The waiting continues.

Fingers Crossed.

In today’s post, I begin with the following –

Last Tuesday evening, we received an offer!

You may remember I mentioned in my post ‘Fingers Crossed‘, as we were leaving the house we waved at the realtor and clients.  The nice younger couple with their young daughter smiled and waved back.

With the offer to buy our home; also was a letter from these potential new owners.  The letter introduced this young family of 5.  A dad and mom, and a young daughter and twin baby boys.  The letter included a brief history of the family and the reasons this family is interested in our home.  The end of the letter concluded with the following –

The moment we walked through the doors, it felt like home, and we would love to make it ours if you accept our offer.

In my post ‘Home For Sale‘, I concluded with the following –

Now the waiting game takes place – when will the new owners walk through the front door for the first time?

And when the future owners first walk through the front door, who knows maybe they will respond with “This is it, this is the one!”

In today’s post, I conclude with the following –

Their offer was accepted!

    • Yes, waiting is very hard, especially for me. And we still will have to wait a little longer with an inspection and appraisal. I appreciate you stopping by to read and comment. Have a happy day. 🙂

  2. Aaaaaaaahhhh!!! (runs round kitchen shrieking with delight … then returns to computer, takes a deep breath, smiling all the while to herself) CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Can you hear me shouting? I’m amazed if you can’t. I am SO excited. The Bean is really excited (though in fairness she has absolutely NO idea why). Terry. Gary. Miss Roxy – you are on your way and I am beyond happy for you.

    • Thank you Osyth, we are excited also. We just need to get through some negotiations, inspection & appraisal and we will be on our way. Appreciate your excitement, I thought we were having an earthquake here, but that was just you and The Bean running around the kitchen! 🙂

      • Ah! Ah! You might feel another earthquake started just a few minutes ago 🙂
And the three furry ones jumping and running around with me are a bit bigger than The Bean 😉
I am overly happy that this nice family felt “just like home” and that your house will be loved and cherished like it has been by you and Gary for the past 13 years 🙂

  4. Your house looks lovely, and so nice that the next owners had the same feelings when they walked into the house that you did. Time for the house to have new memories with its new family and for you and Gary to have new memories in your next place.

  5. Awe, congratulations! I am sure it is comforting to know the family that purchased the house feels the same as you first did when you entered it for the first time. You are home. Now on to your next adventure!

    • Yes indeed – always a good sign when you know it upon the first look. We have several activities to take place such as inspection and appraisal. Hope the day is good to you! 🙂

  6. This is absolutely wonderful news! I am even more excited to hear that the family purchasing your home sounds as if they feel exactly the same way about it you did when you walked into it so many years ago. It must be so reassuring to know that the people moving in will love the home as much as you did.

    • Thank you! We are planning to sell many more items in the house and the rest will be stored while we are on our travels. Hopefully there will not be much to pack, trying to downsize bigtime! Thanks Gary, appreciate you reading and commenting. 🙂

  10. This is a very beautiful home. I always dread when I have to move because I like having that same safe haven and knowing it has always been there. I have never bought a home, but growing up when we left our home of many years, it was like starting over but it was like leaving a piece of you behind at the same time. Hard to explain. I am happy the offer was accepted nonetheless, cheers.

    • Thank you Shay-lon, I understand the feeling of leaving a piece of ourselves behind. I have put many a hard day into making this home beautiful – it will be difficult to leave. But the future is bright and exciting. Thanks for stopping by to read and comment – always appreciated! 🙂
