My category ‘Pictures & Stories’ are posts with me writing a fictional, creative short story about a picture.
Fish Without Feet –
So, I was minding my own business, you know swimming around looking for food. Then it happened!
Really, who knew?
I was picked up and taken away far from the water.
The wind blew and the waters swelled and there I went up and over the rocks.
Really, who knew?
All I need now is to be put back into the water so I can continue looking for food.
I am a fish without feet and therefore unable to walk back.
I would greatly appreciate your help today.
Forget the feet! Time to eat! 🐟

This story reminds me of a t-shirt I have with a fish on it: “Life is weird. One day you’re just swimming along, the next day you’re being dragged out of the water by your lips.” It is a t-shirt from Chuy’s Mexican restaurant in Austin. They have rather funny t-shirts. Happy Saturday!

I was taking a walk and not close to any water, and there it was. And I thought to myself, how did it get here? I had to take the picture of the poor guy. Thanks Kathryn for stopping by – Happy Saturday! 🙂

Yes, and this one was quite a ways from water – made me wonder why it was there. Thanks Sarah. 🙂

I think they’re usually dropped by birds flying with them. But that’s not as much fun as letting my imagination run wild – like, it jumped out of a bucket of an angler, then flopped into the street, etc.

The birds flying and dropping them makes sense. There are lots of pelicans here. 🙂

Poor fish; and maybe poor bird if said fish was to be its dinner until it lost control of the cargo?

I am unsure, what happened to the fish, most likely it was a good dinner for something! 🙂

Great story, as always, Terry! Love that you´ve written it from the point of view of the fish 🙂 I read a lot of empathy out in this one… sometimes we are all a bit like that fish, right? Happy Day my friend! 🙂
