Went to a dinner at a nice local Italian Restaurant with some of the new friends that I met in another one of the local social groups that I recently joined. The group is made up of single people 50 years old and up who just want to get together and have a nice evening among friends. Many of the people are long time residents of the area and have known each other for many years. These nice folks have a wealth of knowledge of the area and are genuine and very helpful. Joining these types of groups have been very therapeutic for me, especially during the upcoming holidays. I am glad that I am making a concerted effort to get involved in the community and to remain positive.
Have a great day.
Luv Gary

I’m glad to hear these efforts are paying off – I’m sure it’s tough to get out sometimes, but you are doing a more-than-admirable job of it!

You have done yourself a great service to get yourself involved with these groups to help you through the holidays without Terry. You can be surrounded by new friends and laughter!

You’re absolutely right. No need for anti-depressants as there are much more positive ways to move forward and to accept what is out of our control concerning life and death.

I am so glad that you are finding groups of people to chill, socialise, have fun and just BE with. Gary, I will be on my own from next week until mid-January so why don’t you hold me to a promise that I will ring you for a chat and a chill by phone. I am sorry I have been so absent but I have actually been taking a fairly taxing course (I qualified as an English teacher a couple of weeks back) and then playing catch-up on everything. But you are always in my thoughts and in my heart, as is Terry. That never changes PS: Roxy too, of course 😉

Thanks Osyth, Appreciate the response and please no problem in having to comment on any of my posts when you are busy doing other important things that should take priority. I fully understand. You can call me anytime when you are able and when it is convenient for you. Starting tomorrow, I will begin some extensive driving, so I may not post for several days as welll. Will be traveling to south Florida for a couple of days (Fri/Sat), then I will be returning back to the RV park for just 1/2 day to repack again. Then on the road again on Mon for a 7 hour trip to my younger brother and my mother in the Fort Walton Beach area, but only for an initial 1/2 day visit primarily to drop the dog off Roxy while I continue my travels. Then the following day (Tues) will be doing a 12 hour drive to Dallas to stay with Terry’s Dad and Step Mom. Then next day will be doing a 5 1/2 hour trip to Midland, TX with them to spend a few days with Terry’s family for Thanksgiving. Then returning thru Dallas (Sat or Sun after Thanksgiving) and then heading north to Oklahoma to the Winstar Casino for a couple of days. The will drive (Tues after Thanksgiving) the 13 hour tip back to my brother’s and mother in Fort Walton Beach for a couple of days. Plan to then drive the 6 1/2 hour trip back to Cocoa Beach on or about 11/30 with Roxy and if my mother is up to it I will bring her with me to stay for about 3 to 4 weeks in Cocoa Beach. Then Christmas will be at my brother and sister in law in Orlando, with Mom and my younger brother from Fort Walton Beach who will drive there. Then my Mom will return back home with him after Christmas and I will return to Cocoa Beach to bring in the New Year. I’m exhausted just writing this. Lots of driving ahead ! Luv Gary
