Meet Superman and Batwomen

Last Thursday I decided to attend happy hour at the Pineda Inn accross from the Bannana River here in the Cocoa Beach area. I hadn’t been here for a couple of months. While awaiting from my friend Beau to arrive, I came accross my old friend “Gosh” the parrot. He was dressed up in his superman outfit (complete with cape) ready to reach tall buildings with a single bound…We had alot of catching up to do. While “Gosh” was resting comfortably on my arm, I also came across “Batman”. I mean “Batwomen”. I did not know this women, but I thought it was only fitting to take a picture of both of these super heroes together. If was a great visit and I was so glad to see my old friend :Gosh” and I think he was happy to see me as well.

The visit with “Gosh” then ended somewhat abruptly. He quicly flew off on a mission — -to save the citizens of Cocoa Beach from the “Evil Crab” that came to destroy the city!

Needless to say….it got pretty exciting and after the “Evil Crab” was destroyed by “Gosh” with the assistance of Batwomen, I neededa couple of stiff drinks to celebrate!

Have a great day. Bam,Bam — Zap, Zap!

It’s A “Real” Small World Aftet All: Video # 6

In today’s post on my International Festival series, I changed the title slightly to include “Real Small” for obvious reasons.

This little girl which I will name a “Shirley Temple Wanna Be” again for obvous reasons, was an impromptu performer from the audience. She was just out there on the grassy area in front of the performers doing her own thing to the music. At times she would boldly go right on to the stage and try to be part of the act. No shyness with this child!

At times, it was a bit cumbersome to get good videos of the petformers, as she would get right in front of them. Either her parents were just too embarassed to claim het as their child or they just didn’t want to ruin the good time she was having.

I think that she just wanted me to include her as a featured act in my blog. What do you all think?

Have a great day and enjoy the video!

P.S. For those following my entire internatinal series, I have purposely skipped video # 5 for now. I will publish that one in a couple days which you will inderstand why when you see it.

It’s A Small World After All: Video # 4

Good evening everyone. Posting my 4th international video blog a bit early on Sunday evening. In the early morning I will be driving back to Coc oa Beach from Key West, FL where I have been the last few days visiting with friends of mine.  Won’t have time during my trip home to post.

Today’s video takes you to the Middle East region where the performers are displaying their beautiful tradtional clothing, music and dance. Enjoy the video and Pics! Gary

It’s A Small World After All: Video # 3

Good morning folks. Today I take you  to Latin America. Not sure, but I think the music the group is dancing to is from a band called Quatro Quarenta (means 440 in English) out of the Dominican Replublic. The band has been around for a long time and I used to love the vibrant, uplifting beat of their music. When I lived in the Repubic of Pannama back in the late 80’s early 90’s I used to hang around with a bunch of my local Panamanian friends. There was one girl in particular who I used to go out dancing with alot from that group who taught me all the moves of Latino Dancing. We actually took 1st place in a Latino Dance contest down there (not bad for a Gringo!) Maybe some day if I’m a bit tipsy from alcohol, I will all surprise you with a boggie blog like Terry used to do. My dancing unfortunately has become a bit limited these years having had 2 full knee replacements. I just don’t feel as flexible on the dance floor anymore. I guess the reality of getting older, of well.

It’s A Small World After All: Video #2

Hey All,

For those who haven’t seen the 1st blog in my international series of blogs,  recommend you go bsck to that one first, as it includes the background on why I am doing this series of blogs and who otchestrated this wonderful festival. That nlog has thevsame title as this one with  Video # 1 at the end of the title.

Enjoy!  Gary

You will note that Beau and I became honorary members of the hindu faith that day and wore the symbol on our foreheads that entire day in courtesy to our Indian friends.

It’s A Small World After All: Video #1

Hey everyone.

Today I begin a series of blogs with an International flavor. The title that I’ve chosen for this blog series is: “It’s A Small World After All”.  For those of you that have been in the past to either Disney World or Disney Land, probably remember the amusement ride “It’s A Small World After All.”  This ride has been around for many years. When taking a ride on that amusement it used to be so uplifting and give me a feeling of togetherness and love throughout the world. It usually took me days afterwards to get the song “It’s a Small World After All” out of my thoughts. That song and the Disney venue as displayed through the innocense of children signified world-wide happiness and cooperation among all people.  I love what it represents!

The International Festival that “Beau” so thoughfullyt informed me about was attended by us two on this past Saturday on the grounds of Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in Melbourne, Fl.

It was such a wonderful and uplifting event. The weather was perfect, the attendance was great and the parking was plentiful and free! There was no admission charge and besides the 5 full hours of beautiful entertainment, there were a number of covered booths where students from FIT from the various countries proudly displayed  items of interest from their respective countries, as well as cordinally provided the public with gratuitious samples of favorite food items that are consumed by the people within their homelands.

The majority of international students that attend FIT come from many of the countries in the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Africa.  So the majorituy of exhibits and performances focused on those regions of the world. However, there were a scattering of representation from Europe as well (but primarily Ireland and Greece from my recoglection).

When I was explainimg to you in a former blog, that animals bring me such joy (like during my visit to the petting zoo at the fair) I wanted to let you know my other passion is conversing with people from other countries to learn more about their cultures, beliefs and overall way of life.  If I were to begin my career all over again, I think I would have loved  being a foreign diplomat, if not a veternarian, or maybe both professions.  I love people and animals from all over the world.  My hopes is that someday we could all co-exist in  in peace and harmony and that the haitred of others and political arrest would simply go away.

Over the course of the next week or so, I will be posting many videos from this wonderful Saturday event. I couldn’t help taking so many videos, because they brought me such joy. I now want you all to experience this happiness within your homes that this wonderful event provided to me.

The title of the follow-on international blogs will be the same; “It’s A Small World After All”, but at the end of each title will be Video # 1, Video # 2, etc.  I did not necessarily video each dance or musical performance in their entirety due to space limitations on my cell, but I wanted to give you the flavor of this beautiful event.

Since I have written such a long blog message here, some of my follow-on blogs in this series might just have a video or two and some still photos, without another narrative.

The Execution and Some Other Cool Stuff in Old Town

Hey All,

Pretty unusual title for my blog this evening.

When Beau and I visited the Muscle Car Show this past Friday, we had a few hours to “kill” so we walked around Old Town in Kissimee which was directly adjacent to the car show. We had fun just browsing around as Old Town had a bunch of unusual things, one being the guy getting electricuted on the execution chair (Yes, I know it’s a bit morbid, but I had to include it). Please enjoy all the rest of the photos that I am attaching as well from Old Town for your enjoyment. Have a great day. Gary

Having Fun At The Rodeo…Ye ha!

Hey All,

As stated in the last couple of posts I did… Beau and I had a full day of events to partake in on this past Friday. One of the events was our attendance at the Silver Spurs Rodeo in the Orlando area. I am going to include a couple of photos and a few short videos for you. Hoorfully the videos will down load successfully. They even had cowboys as young as 5 years old on the horses doing varies group movements with other kids. Was quite impressive! Enjoy the Pics. Gary

Animal Farm

I love animals. They bring me alot of joy! Maybe that’s why I had a fettish for stuffed animals and all those cute talking toys that you see in the stores at Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, etc; I think I bought so many of these things in my earlier years because they helped to relieve stress and made me happy and naturally, it would be a little ackward trying to have a actual live pet Giraffe, Bear, Monkey, Zebra, etc; in our home.

When Terry and I down-sized and were selling our home in Dallas a couple of years ago, I decided to go ahead (with Terry’s encouragement) to donate my farm/zoo of nearly 1,000 creatures. I felt that why not give them to underpriveledged kids and folks in hospitals in order to provide them some joy and happiness that these beautifil creatures provided to me over the years.

After the muscle car show on Friday and immediately following the Rodeo that Beau and I attended (to be posted in another future blog) we attended a county fair that was adjacent to the Rodeo.

I was so excited, because this fair had a petting zoo! I love petting zoos as ot gives me a chance to get up and close to the beautiful creatures that God gave us. I could stay there for hours and hours because I love bonding with my animal friends. At one time in the past I wanted to be a Veterinarian.

I hope you enjoy the video in this blog and the other photos that I am including for your enjoyment.

My hopes is that this post brings you all a bit of happiness today!

Luv, Gary

Say Hi Beau!

Hey everyone,

Kind of an unusual title for today’s blog, but I wanted to introduce you to Beau (Belinda) who I consider to be one of my closest friends. I met Beau through one of my Meetup groups and we have been doing alot of social stuff together.

Beau has lived in the Melborne/Cocoa Beach, Florida area for a long time and she knows everyone around here and is very knowledgeable about all the special events and great places to go  that most people who are not from this area would ever realize are here to explore and enjoy.

Beau is one of the kindest person’s you could ever meet. She is the type of individual that sincerely cares about other people and places their needs well above her own. She has been so supportive to me especially at such a vunerable time of recently losing Terry and she is one of only very few people (other than you guys my blogger friends) and a few select others that I have been able to be totally honest and comfortable with about sharing everything about my life and I feel she too has been very comfortable to share with me the happy and sad moments in her life as well. Beau is like a sister to me which i never had growing up in a family of all boys. Beau is really smart and down to earth (kind of a country girl). She can do just about anything. She can do things that most women (and men to tnclude me for that matter can’t even do). She is a great markman, can work on cars, can fix sprinkler systems, and doesn’t mind getting here hands dirty. She is good with finances (used to be a state auditor), has outstanding culinery skills and she can dress beautifully for the occasion, although she prefers to be casual when appropriate. She is also so flexible and veet easy going. She lives her life to strive to always be a good genuine person with a passion to help others. She does so much volunteer work within the community. She is involved with meals on wheels, caring for animals at rescue facilities, spends an inordinare amount of time helping an elderly man with dementia with his everyday basic needs, just to name but a few things. I can go on and on about Beau and her wonderful attributes but this blog post today would be way too long. I am certain you will learn more about Beau thru other blogs that I write in the future.

I”ve share my spearfruit blog site with Beau, so feel free to chime in and welcome her into the famiy of bloggers!

I am going to include for your enjoyment in today’s blog, a number of photos from the muscle car show that we went to on this past Friday afternoon in Orlando.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Luv Gary
