On Sunday afternoon, I took my French brother Marco to the Gasparilla Music Festival in Tampa, FL where we did some community volunteer work from 2 to 6 PM processing people’s tickets at the main entrance and ensuring that they subsequently used the scanners to register their attendance to the event.
I really enjoyed watching Marco as he was so diligent in his job and quickly set up an efficient system for validating people’s tickets at the gate. I think he really enjoyed interacting with the people and having a better chance to practice his English.
It was a very hot day, but we had a lot of fun working as a team and then walking around afterwards throughout the festival after our 4 hour shift.
