Negative, out of me

I write posts about my life, my experiences, my feelings & emotions and my cancer.

I am very prepared and have posts written in advanced; so, sometimes when I publish a post, it could be a week ago I wrote it or sometimes even longer.

Why am I telling you this?

Because my life like others is fluid and changes daily and even sometimes many times a day.

Negative, ‘downer’ posts as I refer to them have been dominating my blog lately.

I felt after yesterday’s post, I needed to explain.

Thank you for your time.

Negative, out of me –

Carnival

Recently the MacDill Air Force Base had a carnival with free rides.  I went only on two of the rides because I easily get motion sickness and plus with my pain, it was not a good idea to ride some of the faster ones.  But Gary did; he went on many of them.

In this video, all the red roof buildings are on the MacDill Air Force Base.  There is much more to the Air Force Base than what this video displays; it is a large base.  Later in the video you see the skyline of Tampa in the distance and smoke.  The smoke is from one of the many wildfires that have been recently occurring here in Florida.

I hope you enjoy the video –

Lt. Dan

Do you know Lt. Dan?

Lt. Dan Taylor?

Have you heard of Forrest Gump?

Gary Sinise who portrayed Lt. Dan Taylor in the landmark film Forrest Gump formed an enduring connection with servicemen and women throughout the military community.

Gary Sinise formed a foundation that helps serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.  Click ‘Gary Sinise Foundation’ to find out more information.

Gary Sinise also starred in TV series CIS:NY and currently in the series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

You might be wondering why I am writing a post about Gary Sinise.  Well, Gary Sinise also has a band called the Lt. Dan Band.  The MacDill Air Force Base had a free concert this past Saturday night in one of the airplane hangars and guess who was playing?  Yep, Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band.

The evening weather was perfect and my Gary and I had a wonderful time listening to some great music from Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band.

I wanted to share several pictures and a small video clip.

57 Today

Gary, Roxy and I hooked the RV on the truck and moved to Tampa a day early.

That took place yesterday and because of it, I am a little late on reading your posts and responding to comments.

I promise to catch-up today.

So, here is a little video of that travel from yesterday, and something important about today.

The Yellow Dot

In my posts ‘Look Forward‘ and ‘Seeking a Home Base‘,  I wrote about the future planned trip to central Florida in search of a possible location to relocate to.

That trip will begin tomorrow.

Many activities have already taken place this week and my time on WP has recently been limited.

Today, I am spending most of the day alone with hopes of catching-up on reading posts and writing posts.

What does the yellow dot have to do with today?

Departure

December of last year had Gary and myself on a cruise ship in the Eastern Caribbean.

Our last port before returning to Port Canaveral, Florida was Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

There were 5 cruise ships docked that day and within minutes of each other, it was time to depart.

Here is a quick video of that Departure.

Festivals & Saturdays in the Park

The end of summer and start of fall last year had Gary and I attending festivals in the surrounding area.

This was back before my body began to experience the pain that started in December.

This was back before my body went through surgery.

This was back when I felt better.

My hope is soon Gary and I will again attend some festivals & Saturdays in the park.

Sunrise Offered

Sunrise offered a very beautiful spectacle; the water was quite unruffled, but the motion communicated by the tides was so great that, although there was not a breath of air stirring, the sea heaved slowly with a grand and majestic motion.

I took this video several months ago, early one morning to watch the sunrise.

It had much to offer me.

Since my surgery I have yet to walk on the beach, it is waiting for my return.

One day when feeling a little better I plan to take a walk on the beach again.

One day when I am recovered I plan to watch another sunrise.

And take in what it has to offer.
