I feel so pretty

My category ‘Pictures & Stories’ are posts with me writing a fictional, creative short story about a picture. I feel so pretty

I feel so pretty –

It is not easy working in the hospitality industry.  The long hours of working so others can enjoy their vacation time; really why should I work hard for others to take advantage of me?  I am not even paid for what I have to do; unlike ‘the others’, you know who I am talking about ‘the others’.  ‘the others’ who toss me into water and heat – why are they paid to treat me this way?

And don’t get me started on ‘them’.  ‘them’, you know those enjoying their vacations; they use me then throw me on the floor, and why would they do that; look at me!  Look at how pretty I am just laying here on the bed – on the bed waiting for you know who!

Okay, yes this is my job, but really?  I feel so pretty, then I am used and worse yet, thrown on the floor.  Really?

Then another day starts and I do it all over again; laying here and looking pretty – all in a day’s works.

‘let’s do’ time

In my post ‘home with our colors.‘, I wrote the following –

Tomorrow is the day the new owners take possession of this house, our home for the past 13 ½ years.  The house is empty except those items that we are leaving behind for the new owners.

In m post ‘I will be there soon, Pensacola‘, I wrote the following –

Our new temporary home will be located in walking distance from the beach of the Gulf of Mexico.  The beach, sun & water should make for a great combination when it comes time for me to recover from my next surgery.

In today’s post, I write the following –

We arrived this past Wednesday at our new temporary home in Pensacola, Florida.  Today we are settling into our new location and becoming accustomed to the new 5th wheel way of living.  We are running errands for groceries and finding the locations for the gym and clinic where I will have my first appointment with my primary care manager on Monday.  This weekend we plan to visit with Gary’s younger brother and his mom who lives with him.  They live about an hour away and Gary and I are looking forward to seeing them.  We plan to celebrate Gary’s birthday that was this past Tuesday.  Roxy has settled well into the new routine, home and location.  In the RV park, she has to wear a leash and this restricts her from where she can go explore – something she is not accustomed to.  Remember she had her own backyard oasis that she explored without a limiting leash.

Our new way of living will be different and an adjustment time is needed.  The last house was 3,800 sp. ft. and now we are living in about 300 sq. ft.  I will be honest with you, I like my space and time alone and this is not easy in a 5th wheel.  But I know over time, adjustments will be made by Gary and myself and our new living arrangements will be good for both of us.  The different living arrangement and location was needed for both of us.

Our new way of living also brings more ‘let’s do’ time and less ‘have to’ time.  I no longer ‘have to’ clean a pool on a daily basis.  I no longer ‘have to’ trim bushes and grass, mow a lawn and water plants.  I no longer ‘have to’ clean 4 bathrooms and clean a 3,800 sq. ft. house.  We now ‘let’s do’ a quite walk along the beach.  We now ‘let’s do’ take time to explore a new area.  We now ‘let’s do’ have a relaxing life in an area with less traffic and less noise.

So for today, we learn a new way of living in our new home in our new location.

More ‘let’s do’ time and less ‘have to’ time.

I will be there soon, Pensacola

In my post ’18 days and counting!‘, I wrote the following –

My final appointment with my urologist Dr. F. was last week at which time I received all my medical records for my next doctors.  Image2When we leave Dallas on August 2nd, we will make our may to Pensacola Florida the location of my next surgery.  My new primary care manager is selected and appointment scheduled for August 8th.  Because Gary is a military veteran and I am his spouse I have access to the healthcare system at the Naval Air Station Pensacola.  Once the primary care manager appointment is complete, a referral will be submitted then an appointment will be scheduled with the urologist at the Naval Air Station medical facility.  Once the urologist consultation takes place, we will proceed with the best course of action to take care of my bladder cancer.

In today’ post, I write the following –

In less than 2 weeks, Gary and I will be in Florida!

When we depart on August 2nd, we will drive our first day to Monroe, Louisiana and stay overnight at an RV park.

Then next day we will drive to our next destination of Pensacola, Florida.

In Pensacola, we will park Max (the 5th wheel – our new home) at an RV park within the Naval Air Station Pensacola.  Because Gary is a military veteran; we benefit from discounts on the park rental and also have access to most facilities on the Naval Air Station such as commissary, gym, and other important services.

Our home for the next several weeks or months is directly across the street from where the Blue Angles are headquartered.  My understanding is they practice on Tuesdays & Wednesdays for about 55 minutes each day.  I look forward to seeing them and hope to take some pictures or videos of their practice.

Our new temporary home will be located in walking distance from the beach of the Gulf of Mexico.

The sand, sun & water should make for a great combination when it comes time for me to recover from my next surgery.

At this point, I have no date for the next surgery.  You know the one; where my bladder is removed.  At this point in time, I am assuming I will be having a radical cystectomy.

Cancer.org has the following –

Radical cystectomy: If the cancer is larger or is in more than one part of the bladder, a radical cystectomy will be needed. This operation removes the entire bladder and nearby lymph nodes. In men, the prostate and seminal vesicles are also removed.

My understanding is prior to this surgery; some people will go through several weeks of chemotherapy.   In a couple of weeks, I should know details of the procedure and all that it entails upon my appointment with my urologist.
