Departure

December of last year had Gary and myself on a cruise ship in the Eastern Caribbean.

Our last port before returning to Port Canaveral, Florida was Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

There were 5 cruise ships docked that day and within minutes of each other, it was time to depart.

Here is a quick video of that Departure.

Cruising

It is 2 days after surgery and I am recovering.  Because past experience has proven I am not the greatest hospital patient, I decided to post some photos taken on our recent cruise last month because they bring a smile to my face.

I will be in ICU for a couple of days and then the recovery begins.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to stop by, read and leave many wonderful comments.  Due to my surgery and not knowing how I will be feeling; I am disabling the comments on my post today.  I need a few days of recovery and to grow accustom to the new me.  But know soon I will have comments enabled and I will be ready to respond to each one of them.

Year End Boogie

Hello everyone, this post is a Video Log post related to Boogie Blogging.

What is Boogie Blogging – dancing, moving to music, making a fool of myself, creating laugher within you.

I like to dance and I like to move; movement is good for all of us.  Why not have fun while we are moving?

It you like the music with my videos, you are welcome to get up and move or dance with me!

Let loose, let’s have fun, let’s do some Boogie Blogging.

NOTE: I have not made a Boogie Blogging video in many months and for a good reason.  Remember I have a urethral stent from my right kidney to my bladder.  With lots of movement, this stent causes irritation and results in blood and clots in my urine.  I decided with the end of the year, I would do one more Boogie Blogging because very soon, the stent will be removed as well as my bladder.  I want to have one more dance to celebrate ending the year with a bladder.

Back Tomorrow

In my post ‘Spending time away‘, I wrote the following –

While I am on one of the biggest ships, sailing the Atlantic Ocean visiting several Caribbean islands; my plan involves some days publishing a brand-new post and other days re-publishing an older post.  I wrote posts early in my blog that received little exposer and I consider them among others as interesting posts. I know I can reblog these posts, but decided instead to create a new post for each and give a different name to them.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to stop by, read and leave many wonderful comments.  My time away sailing and enjoying other activities will result in time offline and will prevent me from responding to the many wonderful comments I receive.  Therefore, I will be disabling the comments on many of my upcoming posts while spending time away.  There will be times I will have some time online and you will see me a little here and there on WP.  But, most of my time will be offline having fun, relaxing and enjoying the sun.

In today’s post, I write the following –

The past 7 days, Gary and I have been sailing on a large ship in the Eastern Caribbean and will be back docked into a Florida port tomorrow.

Upon my return, I plan to share our trip though words, pictures and video.  I hope you enjoyed my posts from this past week; some new, some old and I appreciate you allowing me to disable the comments on a few.  You are welcome to leave a comment on this post related to a post from this past week.  I hope to have the time to start responding to comments tomorrow and to read your posts.  But if time does not allow, I will eventually catch-up – I promise.

I am writing this post in advance because I am out sailing the seas, but I know from my past experiences with taking a cruise that Gary and I had a great time.  Starting next week, I am back to the Christmas season; after all it is a little over a week away.

But next week also is the start of what is to occur with my health and body; my reality.  My reality starts again next week with an appointment with my Urologist Dr. P. to discuss details of my upcoming surgery.  The week after Christmas will be an appointment with the hospital for pre-op procedures and the first week of the new year begins with a major surgery.

There still is a couple of weeks before that first week of the year – for now, today – I am still cruising.

I will be back tomorrow.

Quote Challenge – Vacation

An excerpt from Roxie’s About Page –

Writing has always been a passion of mine.   This was blog was started with the intent to gain a positive outlook on life.  I always had a positive outlook but after suffering a concussion, that outlook changed.   Writing about my long rehabilitation I found to be difficult and emotional, at the present time.

Hello to anyone and everyone that is reading this. This my first blog and first post so I thought that I would kick it off with some of my favorite quotes.

-JD

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

-Mark Twain

“The destiny of mankind is not decided by material computation. When great causes are on the move in the world … we learn that we are spirits, not animals, and that something is going on in space and time, and beyond space and time, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.”

-Winston Churchill

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

-Benjamin Franklin

I hope it is okay with everyone that I post 3 quotes for this post for all 3 nominators instead a separate post for each one.

Welcome Aboard!

Back in October, In my post ‘I need a vacation‘, I wrote the following –

I need a vacation, so Gary and I have planned taking a cruise in December a couple of weeks prior to Christmas.  We are planning taking a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise the second week in December.  Today, there are still uncertainties with my health and the care needed; but I truly believe I will be able to travel by the second week in December.  This travel in December will be discussed with my Oncologist Dr. D. whom I have an appointment with prior to today’s chemotherapy treatment.

My view on my health and my life is that taking a small break from what is taking place, will be a benefit for Gary and myself.  Precautions will be taken and I will remain focus on remaining infection free.

I need to get away – I need a break – I need to have some fun – I need a vacation.

In today’s post, I write the following –

I received the all-clear from my Oncologist Dr. D. for the cruise and with chemotherapy completed more than 6 weeks ago, I am ready. Gary and I are setting sail on our cruise today.

I plan to take many pictures, some videos and hopefully will have a brain full of ideas for future posts.

I know the certainties of my future healthcare – I know what to expect the beginning of next year.  I have shared this information with you and I accept what the future holds for me.  I place the future in the future knowing it will soon be the present.  Before that future present arrives, the present today is here and the cruise, the vacation, the get-away, the break, the fun begins in a few hours.

Yesterday, we traveled to and stayed overnight with Gary’s older brother in Orlando and this morning we make our way to Port Canaveral to board and set sail for our 7-day cruise.

Just a reminder my friends, my personal goal is to post every single day – expect posts while I am away.  I also want to remind you, as indicated in my post ‘Spending time away‘, I will disable comments on some of the posts due to my limited time online.

Welcome Aboard!

Spending time away

Last Friday, in my video post ‘Results‘, I informed you of what is taking place with regards to my health.

In today’s post, I write the following –

January 5th is 1 day short of 4 weeks away from today and before that surgery date arrives, I will be taking a break and spending time away.  I will be here on WP posting everyday as I have for almost 19 months now.  As long as I have topics to write about, I will continue to publish posts.

Beginning this Sunday, December 11, I will be on an Eastern Caribbean cruise.  My plan is to spend a limited amount of time online and instead I will enjoy some time away from everything.  But, since I have a personal goal to post each day, I will not let my time away prevent me from doing this.  Prior to leaving, I will have scheduled all my posts for the time I am at sea.

My previous experience of time away at Thanksgiving resulted in me falling behind on my responses.  This bothers me and it also took a great deal of effort and time to catch-up.  Honestly, I do not want to feel this again and with my upcoming posts having the comments disabled, you the reader clicking the ‘Like’ button is enough for me.  This is temporary while I am away – I will not make a habit of it.

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read my older posts that are getting another chance.

Each post beginning this Sunday and for the next week will have a reminder of my time away.  Once back, I certainly hope I will have some posts about the cruise and me spending time away.

I will be back online fulltime with all new posts starting December 17th.
